The Sound and Music Computing research group (SMC) addresses challenges in the current generation of audio and music technologies, such as: sound synthesis, analysis, and processing; music perception and cognition: physics-based sound synthesis and control; novel interfaces for musical expression; sound for multimodal environments and sonic interaction design; music informatics and intelligence. SMC aims to develop the next generation of sound and music computing to not only benefit users of such technologies, but also a considerably wide variety of industries, from entertainment to education to social services. SMC in Copenhagen is part of a wider network of researchers within the field of Sound and Music Computing involving many different research centers and organizations.
